Lowers risk of type 2 diabetes: According to a study conducted in Thailand, turmeric was found to be capable of lowering the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. By taking a supplement each day containing curcumin, the risk of people developing type 2 diabetes was vastly reduced.
Alzheimer's disease and dementia: Curcumin, according to a study, blocks the development of beta-amyloid plaques that impede brain function in Alzheimer's disease.

Treats dandruff: Apply a paste of olive oil and turmeric on the scalp to treat dandruff. Leave the paste on for 15 minutes and then wash it off with a mild shampoo. Alternatively, mix turmeric with almond or coconut oil and ground black pepper.
Treats dermatitis and eczema: Turmeric has the potential of treating dermatitis, eczema, thinning hair, flaky skin and inflammation. Curcumin is antifungal, antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and antiseptic. These properties help it get rid of scalp conditions and give clean and hygienic hair.

Cures boil: One of the best home remedies to treat boils, turmeric contains a volatile oil that has anti-inflammatory properties. To use turmeric to treat boils, soak the root of turmeric in hot water for a few minutes. Make a paste of it and apply it to the affected area. Leave it on till it dries. Rinse it off with water and repeat this regularly for best results.
Turmeric can also be added to tea, coffee, water, milk or soup, or to salads and stir fries.
Gets rid of wrinkles: When turmeric is added to other ingredients, it can contribute to reducing wrinkles and fine lines. To get rid of wrinkles using turmeric, make a face pack of turmeric and rice powders, raw milk and tomato juice. Apply it on the face and neck and keep it on for 30 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water. This will get rid of your wrinkles and lighten your skin.
Eliminates signs of aging: Turmeric is a wonderful exfoliant. It can get rid of the signs of aging. By making a paste of gram flour and turmeric powder with water and applying it on your face and neck, you can progressively reduce the signs of aging. Rinse it off with tepid water and massage your face in circular movements.
Treats cracked heels: Turmeric heals cracked heels due to its inherent healing properties. A paste of three spoons of turmeric and a few drops of castor or coconut oil, when applied on the heels for about 15 minutes before a bath, will soften and heal your heels.
